Hello,

We had a Qantas classic rewards flight booked from MEL to FRA via NRT on JL (this is for early April).
Looks like Qantas/JL cancelled our flight from MEL-NRT, so we are stranded in terms of options of getting to NRT to catch our onward flight. I guess this needs to be on the same ticket as per Japan transit conditions.

The agent on the phone said they couldn't find availability on any of the other options (SYD-NRT). I also tried to check other options to go from MEL-FRA or CDG bypassing JL, but doesnt seem to have any availability. Has anyone been in this situation before? I am just trying to look for other ways if possible.

Perhaps a positioning flight to SIN and onwards on classic reward might be the only option left.

Thanks again for all your inputs.

This was mentioned in another thread.. it's actually JAL that has stopped flying, not Qantas that has cancelled anything.

Unfortunately this is something outside Qantas' control and you will have to find alternative flights. If the JAL flight is still running from SYD you could contact Qantas and ask them to send a message to the Oneworld disruptions desk... see if they can get you re-instated on to the flight ex SYD (and then connect up from MEL on Qantas).

Edited to add: information on the other thread suggests the JL SYD flight is to HND - which won't work if you have a connection from NRT :(

Ok, I will try request that. HND might be okay, as there is HND-CDG option. However, the HND-CDG flight leaves the next day in the morning. Would this still be an issue?

Ok, as a backup option, I was looking at flying to SIN first from MEL and using the other options onwards from here. Do you see an issue with doing this?

MNL is the other one that seems to be open at the moment, but the other Asian ports are a bit risky at the moment to get in and out of.
