Booked a couple of tickets for myself and the mrs on Tuesday night, came through on the CC as $2200... not bad. Bit pissed at myself as I found the deal on Monday night when tickets would of only cost me $1800 but hesitated. Ah well, still a good price. Now just need Qantas to have a promotion to allow us to upgrade the O fare.

Well I'm raging. Fare I wanted is gone (PER-SIN, $480 r/t).

Get stuffed GE Money.
And it's back again...got Dad rang 28 degrees again to sort out the permissions for purchase, which he did. Tried 3 times to book and each time it rejected. Called back again this morning, and just managed to get it all booked and ticketed :)

PER-SIN-PER on QF for ~$460AU...that's nice! A pity it has to be QF72, but for the price that's a worthwhile sacrifice.

This is off thread. Just noticed Air Pacific has return SYD /Lax $1081. August 2012 to march 2013.

Did some more dummy runs for MEL-LAX between November - April, and found a few more fares for $915 and MEL-xSYD-LAX for $955.

A bit off topic, from LAX to LON there are fares for $511 for dep in Nov and Return in Dec. Booking class is K, so probably can't earn points with other airlines and very poor point earn with the Airpesos.

Yes the ireland version of Expedia (ie) - it showed up in Qantas under my bookings by putting my QFF onto expedia booking form within 2hrs of me making it

The amazing thing is I paid for the fare with my QSCU credit card - it comes up as qantas so they gave me double points for the qantas part of the transaction - very happy
