Just looked at my couch and realised I have an EY Y striped blanket and a VA PE blanket on it at the moment (one for the cat and one for the dog)

ETA both were taken with ok for crew.

Would anyone check if they [life jackets] are there before departure ?

Just wondering !

And if it is not there, what would the Captain do ?

Hope for the best "she's alright, mate" or turn the aircraft around ???

What's the rules there, anyone knows ???

Thanks

I recall many many years ago someone in a night club wearing a life jacket. I wanted to go and slap them and abuse them for taking it off the a/c.

QF certainly do, had one missing on a BNE SYD flight last week noticed by crew! boarding held while a replacement was fitted.

Once took a blanket from QF PE which was gratefully used when sleeping on a felucca on the Nile in Egypt. For a hot country it gets cold at night :)

It was very handy at the time. I suppose it should have stayed there, only time I've really taken anything other than occasional sleeping mask.

A TR on the first commercial 787 the OP mentioned that he souvenired the safety card  He copped a verbal hiding and I doubt he'll brag about such things again.

Met a QF regional manager who collects such things!

I have been given permission to take a business blanket from the Qantas NYC to LAX flight...my 3 yr old was asleep and they wrapped it around him and me when we deplaned....on the ground for short period before we reboarded the plane (same seats) to fly to SYD....the blanket was left on the plane at final departure point. I see it as stealing.

We have a QF blanket due to the same reason.

We where also given a QF pram as our little one had fallen asleep and the FA said there is a pram at the exit of the pram you can take that so that will make it easy for you. We left the pram in the car park.

Some interesting Buy it Now prices from the post linked - Over $200 for a pair of QF Plat tags.
Crazy.

I have got to remember to find my Qantas Platinum tags and sell them.
