Qantas ASA awards [Now Points/QF Metal Only?]

Hi all - I've been reading some of the threads and it seems you have to pay for ASA now - are there any that you can use only points? Also can you only use ASA on QF metal

You could always start here first followed by some (longer) read here.

You always have to "pay" with ASA - the key question is "how much" more than the Classic award it should be.

What you are seeing on the current website is not what we here on AFF call ASA.

We tend to reserve that term for the more-valued JASA/FASA seats in the PUZX fare buckets which is now only available by calling QF.

QF would be happy to give you points-only quotes but that is not ASA in our terminology.

I have not booked ASA on non-QF metal so I cannot be definitive.
