Some good news for our SA based AFF’ers

- Increased Syd/Mel capacity
- New route Adl/Ool just in time for school holidays to scoop up the premium leisure travellers
- Doubling capacity of Adl/Mount Gambier (this has been a great route for our business and we’ve noticed it is well patronised)
- QF will have 8 E190’s painted in QFLink Livery which will be a plane spotters dream as another aircraft type appears in QF colours
- QFcapacity will rise to 107% over precovid

Further good news for SA with the current tourist boom that is sweeping the state. Best 3 months ever in the state and CBD hotel occupancy the highest in the nation. A real buzz around the state currently

That's somewhat surprising, although come to think of it, I have personally visited Adelaide more times so far this year than I have in all other years, combined. 😯

With overseas destinations off the table for now, Adelaide & SA is indeed a great domestic tourism destination.

Had a quick scan but didn't see it mentioned (or blind), what is the likely seat config, do you think they'll have business or be running all economy?

84 Economy seats (2-2 configuration) and 10 Business (1-2).

((OT: Re: tourism coming into South Aust, all our Kiwi "cousins" will want to come to SA now.
Seeing (Air)NZ has linked onto some QF for TT flights.
ADL - MGB, ADL - ASP, ADL - PLO.))

I suspect Adelaide has been popular for pricing reasons

1. SATC Campaign where fares were $99 one way even from Perth
2. Half off fares include Adelaide and that still goes on
3. KI while direct from Melb isnt from elsewhere and people have responded to helping the post bushfire recovery
4. we haven’t run out of rental cars (unlike Tassie)
5. State Govt $100 city hotel accommodation vouchers

topped off with a double status credits and a safe COVID record!

perfect storm!

I regularly flew E190s from LAX to YYC (abt 3.5 hrs) - quite comfy in biz. Little overhead bin space, of course and no rooms for bags at all down one side. I wonder if they'll introduce 'checked (hand) luggage at the gate' and have those bags available on exiting the plane, like they do in Nth America? If not, major disincentive to take business (assuming you travel with at least a standard carry-on)

But if Qantas wanted to introduce a service to Broken Hill, I would be all for it!
I'd like to see that, and also would look forward to the Rex media release!

I like the idea of J with a window one side and an aisle the other. Last E190 flight I did was with DJ BNE-CBR. That was a while ago.

Cheers skip
