Does anyone know if booked on 2 separate tickets (QF domestic and One world), whether qantas will use the one world airline's baggage rules?
I will be traveling CBR-SYD-KUL, CBR-SYD will be on the dash that has 1 piece 23kg baggage restriction and SYD-KUL on MH 2 pieces (+1 for being emerald).
Most flights from CBR-SYD are on dash so basically I will have to purchase additional baggage if qantas insists on 1piece 23kg rule on the dash.
Alternatively is to go via MEL which qf operates bigger aircrafts (717/737).
Anyone has different take on this?

I'd try for a 717 to SYD, avoid Dash 8's whenever possible. I'd personally prefer routing via MEL (if only to avoid the bus transfer at SYD).

I think international limit applies if you are on separate PNR's as long as its a 24h transit time all OneWorld.
The exception being the Dash 8's as has been mentioned.

My home port always starts with a dash8 (I need to change my profile). I have never had the baggage rule specific for dash-8s enforced, and I often travel with a bike and +1 luggage as per my SG benefits. Just reading the QF rules here, its clear that flight have to be on the one QF ticket

I enjoy the dash8s. Something about the seat angle and noise that allows me to sleep.

I have also never experienced a difference in checked baggage entitlement on CBR-SYD based on aircraft type.

Just looked at a "just issued" e-ticket and it appears the language has changed (from what I know is/was on the website), to just carve out Lord Howe and Olympic Dam, cabin baggage remains different for the Dash-8 services.

E-Ticket says:

ECONOMY excludes QantasLink Services to/from Lord Howe Island and Olympic Dam
Non Frequent Flyer, Bronze - 1 piece up to 23kg (50lb)
Qantas Club, Silver - 1 piece up to 32kg (70lb)
Gold - 2 pieces up to 32kg (70lb) each
Platinum/Platinum One - 2 pieces up to 32kg (70lb) each
