Has anyone heard when Qantas is expected to move from Terminal 2 to Terminal 3 at Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta?

I have just read that all international flights will use Terminal 3 of Jakarta Airport by April and the latest, May.

Does anyone know what the lounge situation will be for QF in the new terminal? It cant be any worse than what it is now.

Cheers,

Let's just pray a oneworld airline comes to the party and it's not another Purah Indah or Premier lounge.

Heck, while we're at it let's also pray they have more than one shower, and they're not covered in mould with used towels sitting in the corner and the shower head hanging loosely off the wall.. (my exact experience in January, sent a complain to QF with plenty of pics and got no response)

Yeah i agree. Both are terrible lounges. I just hope with a new terminal there will be better options available. Would be great if Cathay Pacific opened a lounge.

Here’s a review:

The lounge is actually pretty nice! All new and clean with some cook-to-order options.

Power points aplenty. Lots of seating options.

Only cheap wines (eg Eaglehawk) but beer. And at least they actually have wine.

I tried some of the food. It was pretty OK for a standard lounge.

Hi guys,

i'm a QF Gold and i'm planning to fly JQ from T3, can I get access in plaza premium lounge?
QF website says QF gold members are eligible before JQ flight, not sure if this applies to non-qf lounge

Not exactly. The lounge access rules (reformatted for readability) say

Next onward flight that day must be on a:
  • Qantas^, operated or marketed flight,
  • Emirates^, operated and Qantas marketed flight,
  • Jetstar Airlines+ (international only) operated and Qantas marketed flight or
  • Qantas operated and oneworldmarketed flight.#
One guest allowed and must be travelling with the member on the same flight.

You need to be on a QF flight number.

o_Othat's not so readable.. thanks heaps!

anyway, I have used single lounge pass before a JQ flight and it was okay? I assumed it is the same thing?

Lounge passes can be used when flying JQ but only at Qantas operated lounges. You won't be able to get into the CGK lounge with a single entry pass regardless of carrier flown.

Thanks for the clarification!

They also used to allow access if you 3K flight was connecting to a QF coded flight in SIN.

I'm flying into CGK on MH and joining the QF flight to SYD on a separate ticket. Because MH values its passengers and likes to provide a one world experience, I know my bags will be checked through to SYD. However, will I need to clear Immigration (and pay another damn visa fee) or is there a transfer option? The oneworld website (which is notorious for providing wrong or misleading information) says the lounge MH uses at CGK is in Terminal 2D suggesting, therefore, that that's the terminal it operates in and out of, while QF now operates at Terminal 3. I can't see anything on the MH website to say the airline now uses T3 as well.

Is transiting (and therefore not paying a visa fee) possible at CGK?

MH and QF now use the same terminal - T3. And there is no visa fee anymore for Australians.

Anyway, it's a HUGE terminal and I think there will be air-side transit options.

Super. Thanks for that. I thought it still cost USD25-odd for Aussie. I was last in Bali in November of last year and had to pay then.

I was in Jakarta in December last year, didn't need to pay a fee. No fee for Bali in August this year either.

No more Visa on Arrival needed for Australians in Indonesia.

The photos of the lounge above were taken when I was departing on MH from T3 earlier this year.
