This is a great back-pocket card for emergencies. It offers few benefits but it costs nothing yet still earns Qantas points. I keep a small limit on this card and provide supplemental cards to my children for emergency use only when they travel. So far it has worked very well for them worldwide.

Thanks, will do. I removed it from the message text before posting but did not notice it in the title. That was a direct copy paste from the Amex site which shows the dollar sign.

Looking at my card account activity today I noted 2 x $50 credits for purchases this week made after signing up to a "spend $500 get $50 credit" offer.

Not a bad return on a "free" card.
