This is a good basic card free of annual fees. No bonuses offered but this is a handy card to have tucked away for emergencies. Keep the limit low and safely give a supplemental card to your traveling children.

A reminder, this is a great card to have for those just in case moments. My daughter has traveled to the US a number of times in past 18 months. She has been challenged at immigration twice now in regards to funds. Each time she has pulled out her supplemental Amex Qantas Discovery card and replied "I have Daddies Amex". It works every time.

Also in South America where the airlines do not like e-credit cards when making payments she pulls out the physical Amex Qantas Discovery card to pay for internal flights, excess baggage etc.. As Karl Malden always said, "Don't leave home without it"
