Qantas 40% bonus on any transfer

Received an email from Qantas this morning saying that because I had transferred some points recently that they were offering a bonus deal of 40% for any new transfers up to December 19.

WELL THANK YOU QANTAS.

The problem I have is that I have just transferred 1,000,000 points to get the 30% bonus and now a few days later they send me this email offering 40%.

Really appreciate the loyalty Qantas. I will not be transferring any point in the future. All my business will be going elsewhere.

I am just amazed at the gaul of the whole thing. What game are they playing. P*** off the customers!!

I got one today offering 30℅, with no specific threshold, unlike the recent one where you had to transfer 1,000,000 or more to get the 30℅. Have to admit I thought the same as you...

I didn't transfer any on either occasion. Already have too many points in QF that are hard to use, unless I wanted a toaster!
 
Never had an offer like that of any kind.

I'm not sure why the OP is so annoyed - perhaps they thought you had more points you'd like to transfer?
 
I'm confused. Is this referring to a points transfer to a family member, or from a particular credit card?

Did not they say it was an extra bonus because you had acted on the first deal? I often buy things and then get an extra offer discount because of the first transaction.
 
Just to clarify.

There are alternatives with credit card transfers. SQ and CX (Amex card warehouse). The redemption rates are much lower on many routes and availability much better. That is where my future transfers will be going.

As far as the comment that the 40% offer was an enticement to transfer more points well the little black duck aint doing that. When you feel dudded you don't go back for more.

First world problem I know but not very smart on the part of Qantas...
 
The situation seems to be that people like me who did not transfer points from their credit card pool in response to last month's 15-30% offer got a new offer of 30% bonus on all points yesterday. People who did respond to the earlier offer and transferred points to QFF got a new offer of 40% bonus on all points. If I had transferred my points for 15%, I too would have felt a little hoodwinked when a new offer came out just a few days later and I had no points left to take advantage of it.
 
Calling Amex experts. I want to transfer a few more MR points before the offer closes at midnight Monday (it now being Saturday). The Amex rules say the transfer can take up to one business day to take effect. Does anyone know if a transfer done now is likely to beat the deadline of Monday night or if they are more likely to hit my QFF account on Tuesday? Or in other words do the words mean what they appear to say?

I was hoping to receive some pointers from you Pro's in how i could possibly receive a targeted 40% bonus offer for transfers from my amex card to Qantas?

As far as I am aware, all you need is the right kind of Amex card and to have done some such transfers in the past. That is all I have ever done, and I get these offers.

Well having read what you have above to get these offers I assume that you would need to have 1/ transferred points in the past plus 2/ have a large (say 7 figures) QFF point balance ) and 3/ an Amex that can transfer to QFF

Not the answer you are looking for but I don't recall every seeing a 40% bonus.

Yep. Understood so I guess I'm saying they are rare as I don't recall ever seeing or hearing of one and it's the sort of thing that people will/do talk about.
