I have two one way tickets to South America and back from Melbourne as reward seats. Now i'm trying to book some internal flights on latam airlines. I want to fly from Buenos Aires to Rio and two days later from Rio to Santiago to connect to my flight home. There is a reward seat listed for the first leg on Latam and when I rang to book it the Qantas frequent flyer call centre said it could not be done because the flight did not originate in Australia. They said they did not have pricing for that flight. This doesn't sound right to me. I would appreciate anyone's experience with this and how to go about it.

It will be because QF can't calculate taxes in Argentinean pesos. Did you try asking to add the flight to your existing award redemption which originates in Aus so will price in AUD?

I have two one way reward tickets there and back. This would be adding another one way reward ticket. Do you think that is doable?

Just phone up and say you want to modify your existing booking (the one that departs Aus), then tell them the flight/s number/s you want to add. It will cost you a change fee of 5k points, but because the booking originates in Aus they should be able to process the taxes.

I have upcoming flights booked as QF CR on LA flights. SCL-MVD//EZE-SCL.

I do know the website doesn’t let you search for rewards originating in Argentina but can be booked as a return from Chile or open jaw (as I have done).

Hopefully they can add the flights you want. One way to see what’s available to QF is search SCL-EZE/AEP-SCL.
