You will have to ask the seller as there are no clear answers, often these "cheap" fares are reward seats where points in US Air's Divendend Miles or Aviancas Life Miles have been purchased, so no earn or flexibility. A little bit of homework here will often see a much cheaper outcome if your happy to buy points and use them.

Yep, that sounds good. What sort of price are we talking here (so I can compare to the method markis10 mentions, my current favourite)?Recently purchased J tickets to Europe.
Searched the web for the cheapest ticket. Being concerned at buying a ticket on the web from a wholesaler in the ether
I copied their offer ( that did not mention points etc ) and took it to a travel agent who advertises "we will beat any fare ".
Got another dollar off and the ability on confirmation to select seats etc - the fare was nearly $2,000 less than the airlines site.
I now have the satisfaction of dealing with a major Australian Agent in the event of a problem and not an agent somewhere
up there in the web, and yes I get the points and status.
