Small win. The amount saved is less important than the fact it was a win..

Easter Sunday. So Woolies closed - could not get “last minutes” for trip
Road trip
Coles express at Shell
Filled tank with 130L diesel @$1.449 which was cheapest along my routing)
Shopadocket 4c/L
Purchased $21.89 in store at Coles Express
As a result additional 10c/L discount.
14c per 131L = $18.34

Effectively the stuff purchased in store was $21.89-$18.34 = $3.55

$3.55 is less than usual price at Coles proper:
3 x 1.25 bottles of Coke no sugar
1L long life milk
2 x Dare 750ml iced coffee
2 x Arnotts biscuits
(It’s a long trip to Wagga)

Almost purchased diesel @ $1.489 at 7-11 50km earlier but calculated I could make the Shell/Coles (and did with 10km left in range display). Apart from $1 coffees no discounts at 7-11

Later could have detoured off Hume to Jugiong for $1.429 but didn’t. Value was not there.

With a tank that holds 180L of diesel I regularly have such a win on our road trips.
Next time you are going through Jugiong you should stop for a stretch and fabulous coffee.

I was pleased you are thinking like a wholesaler Quickstatus. I wouldn’t ever go below 80kms range and my Lexus goes about 740 kms limit so I refill around 600kms travelled to avoid ever running out.

I like doing these sums in my head while driving, makes the trip interesting.

The fill up meant that I technically had another 7-8L remaining even at 10km range remaining. However I’ll call that fumes.

I’ve never been to Jugiong. Maybe I should drop in for a pub lunch (is there a pub?) on way back.

MrsQS mentioned that the relative win could have been slightly greater if I didn’t spend $1.89 more than the required $20.
But I like Arnotts Monte Carlos!

I queued up behind a couple of vehicles on Perth’s cheap Easter Monday to use up a 10% off, 4 cents off and Myer One card and bonus Woolies points at a Caltex Woolies.
Mrscove watched the crowd at the servo do some crazy moves and we are convinced there are drivers who got their drivers licences out of a Weeties packet.

Have multiple times at various BP stations had the buy 2x water for $5 and get an extra 8c p/l discount. When filling 8 litres plus, they end up paying you to take the water away;

So the story continues...

While in Wagga had to move a lot of rubbish - 2 trips to Gregadoo waste management centre.

40kg cardboard 1st trip = free
50kg polystyrene and plastic usually charged at $135 per tonne but was let off for free because of some extra cardboard boxes.

Then did the same to Coles on way back. And spent exactly $20 in store - discounted to $3.20 due to 14c/litre discount this time. Plus additional some 15% iTunes gift cards. The same person served me on the raid the day before. He knew that I knew that he knew I got a good deal- twice.
