New Qantas promos including double status credits (book by 3/9/25; travel 4/9/25 until 22/8/26)

booked by 3 September 2025, for travel between 4 September 2025 and 22 August 2026 (excludes codeshare and partner airline flights).*

while double Status Credits earned from previous campaigns counted towards Lifetime status, any earned from this campaign will only count towards your annual status.

And seemingly no magic..v.
(At least on my read)
Strangely, the T&Cs at the bottom of the page make no mention of this, primarily as they’re still referencing the March promo

The loyalty gift is odd. For one, it seems the reverse (loyal customers who have already requalified don’t need them, but this will help those who haven’t got enough travel booked to requalify).

This feels more like covid era status keeper. I wonder if elite numbers are starting to drop off?

Agreed, this is certainly unwelcome news. Will be interesting to see if this works in practice or if it’s like certain other T&Cs that are mentioned but not enforced.
I've got upcoming flights that were booked as DSC from a previous promo (before this clause came in). Since between now and March next year you could be flying DSC on flights booked either under the old rules or the new rules, I wonder if their IT system can handle only applying lifetime SCs to those booked in March but not in August.

Yep, same boat here. Maybe we could be lucky this time around?

The system does recognise which promo you are triggering as the description goes into the transaction history line item, so I would imagine it is possible to trigger posting differently.

Hmm i might need to math my partner's status since she rolls over on Aug 31. Maybe it might make WP possible for a year.

Bonus probably isn't going to do much for my own requalification.

On a completely different note. I just tested and confirmed that splitting your PNR keeps the DSC flag.

I just received the free status credits information when I opened the app now at 12:45am. Very nice bonus. However I did not receive the notice about DSC and only read it on this thread! I am about to book return flights to Europe and have been holding off for a possible October DSC promotion. Thank goodness for AFF! I’ll have to spend today (after I get some sleep) finalising the flights. At least, I hope the information to register is somewhere on my app!!

Of course with a DSC promotion, the fares have gone up again. No business saver fares now! My trip has gone up from $10,000 to $15,000. 😫

Edit: The invitation to register for DSC is in my app. I had to scroll down much further to see it. Nevertheless, it is still only because of AFF.
