Carry on baggage domestic is 105cm while international is 115cm. Can I take the international carry on on the domestic flight?

Are the flights on the same or separate PNRs?

Are you travelling on one ticket on two flights? I.e. MEL-SYD-BKK.

If so then you will be allowed to use the international allowance.

If you're only travelling MEL-SYD then you are stuck with the domestic allowance.

Whilst there is an allowable limit I have found traveling from regional ports a wheelie bag permissible on a jet will be required to be checked in on a dash8 as the overhead lockers physically aren't big enough to store the bag

On the QLink dash8 services I take they normally give me a premium luggage tag if I am using roll aboard HL. The bag is left at the foot of the stairs and the ground staff put in the hold for the flight and then give it back on arrival. I have personally found and QLink to be very realistic and accommodating with oversize (for a dash8) HL.
This may just be because they see me frequently :)
