I've just deleted all my private messages (PM) in my inbox, as it said I only have capacity for 10. If anyone has sent a PM lately - my apologies; none received. I appreciate the forum and capacity to send messages but please, isn't 10 a little stingy? Or is it purposedly small to encourge members to post publicly to the boards; thus encouraging sharing/ activity? Any thoughts or comments welcomed. Cheers.

BlacKnox,

The cynic in me says it's also to encourage Silver (100 PM's allowed) and Gold (200 PM's allowed) memberships.

I too think that 10 messages is far too few....in the last 2-3 years, there has been a significant growth in membership on AFF so it has become a very useful travel tool....so when it comes to QF issues (and most travel related issues), I often come to AFF first then wander over to Flyertalk (which is free and allows 500 private messages). I have made a decison not to suscribe to silver or gold membership...I just ignore all the ads around me;)

I don't think that is cynical - just the truth as part of the way the various package levels were designed.

is there a charge for silver or gold membership:?:

As mentioned, it is possible to increase by purchasing the silver/gold membersip level. It is quite possible to allow people to contact by enabling the option to allow people to send messages via email; this does not use up any PM slots

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

If it of any help and do able, you all are welcome to my portion:p I never received nor send any PMs, I guess many don't use them either!

Ok, that makes sense now; forgot about the memberships. Fair enough for admin to get some financial return for additional benefits. Cheers.

That is right. Don't forget to submit a prediction in the 100,000th post thread to have a chance of winning an AFF Gold membership or one of 2 AFF Silver memberships. ;)
