I noticed priority screening queue at BNE this morning was being policed (by a lovely angel).
Good sign, although I never experienced any problems with this previously (unlike MEL, the BNE queue is a bit more discrete)

The only time I've ever noticed MEL's priority screening lane being enforced was one Saturday morning.

Seems to me like it's something they do when they have excess staff.

I've seen it being policed in MEL quite a few times during morning peak hour, but it seems to be completely random as to the time and day.

Was policed two Friday's ago although the guy in front said he was Plat but it didnt show on the BP as his boss had booked the ticket and was let through, versus a queue of 20ppl

Last night regular queue was even longer - 30ppl, and no policing - I just walked straight through.

Yes, I think this is excellent, some of my ex BNE flights in April the standard queue was very long, and it was nice to have a well policed priority queue. The angel also took my word for it (no BP) as my Platinum card had disappeared into the bowels of my man bag.

downside: screening agents call people over from the standard line into the priority xray. Means i cant walk straight through and have to wait behind a person
NOT GOOD ENOUGH!
:p

Every time I have gone through the Priority lane in MEL the others lanes had less people lining up!
