Priority Pass - is it worthwhile

Hi from a new member. I used to be a Qantas Club member when I was working but since retirement I haven't kept it up. I was wondering if anyone has tried the Priority Pass alternative and what they thought of it. In 2011 my wife and I will probably do a RTW and would find access to lounges useful.

They use some nice lounges internationally but I don't think they use many international lounges here (I think they have Melbourne), mainly domestic.

It would be nice if they had one in Brisbane Int I would take it up.

Some of the lounges they use you can just go and pay at the door even if you are not a priority pass member.
 
Check which cities you'll be heading to and see if they have lounge access there. I believe in Australia they use Virgin's lounges.
