The rates only seem to be up till end Dec 07. Has anyone got them to work in Jan 08?

Yes, only until the end of December. Just booked a few nights for 5000 points/night. Excellent value :) .

Just to clarify the new additions, they are only going to be on the lsit till Sept 3 and are bookable for this year only, to quote the email I received:

'And, for this week only, there are more than 500 properties across the
Priority Club Rewards Family of Brands from which to choose. Best yet, as long as you make your reservation and redeem your points by 3 September, you can travel through the end of the year."

Rooty Hill is available in January if you're keen!

Yeah, the rates from the old Point Breaks are still available. I think that only includes Rooty Hill though.

The Priority Club Point Breaks list has been updated - these are the properties that you can redeem for 5000 points per night. The official list is still showing the old properties (only Alice Springs and Rooty Hill in Australia) but if you look for reward nights you can find others. Intercontinental in Perth for example.

And if you don't have 5000 Priority Club points you can buy them for only US$50.

Is the IC Perth still available? I am trying to find it, but they want 30k per night

Nope the award stays sold out... You can get the HI Perth, HI Burswood or CP Perth till end of Dec though.

What is the cancellation policy with the Pointsbreak awards?
If I book some nights now, but later change my mind (after Sept 3) and cancel, would I get the points back?

The T&Cs are usually in the booking. I think it's either get back all points or 5000 point (1 night) penalty. Double check when you book.

They've just added a huge amount of new properties over the last couple of days.

This is great. I just cancelled two separate Hilton nights coming up (Hampton Inn @ $US280 and Hampton Inn @ $US170) and replaced them with 2 points break awards at 5000 points each.

After credit card fees and forex, that would probably be around $US500 worth of bookings. I definitely don't value IHG points at $US0.05 each, so I'm getting an awesome bargain. To boot, the Crowne Plazas I've moved to are rated much higher than the Hampton's I cancelled!

Oh well I think IC has done quite well to win back all the loyal PC members after the earlier rate rise on their reward night requirements. Sure these great list of properties won't last forever (and in fact limited time) BUT I think they have done enough for people to forgive them :)

Cancellation policy on Point Breaks is 5,000 points per booking.

Thanks for that. I have just booked 4 nites at Crowne Plaza Terrigal for 20000 points:mrgreen:. A great deal IMHO, as a night normally costs 25000 points or in excess of $200:D

Don't laugh!!! I will be staying here in a month's time!!! I need to do a qualifying stay (it's the cheapest place near me at $90/nite;)) for the 4Q triple points promo Q so that when I stay in CP Beijing in October for 1 week (at a high rate, as on work;)) I will get quadruple points (4x if you book online as well:idea:), and should get in excess of 50k points, and qualify for PC plat in the process.

PS: my contigency plan for Rooty Hill is to check in and pay for the bill, then check the room (and the area) out....if it's really bad, head staright home!!

PS: this is my first real exposure to PC, and I like what I have seen so far!!

Do reward stays count towards the total night counter for Gold/Plat status?

I think I read either here or on flyertalk, if you have something small charged to the room, then depending on the hotel, you may get some stay points and some corresponding bonus points. Can anyone confirm?

They dont count for the number of nights that go towards elite status but the points do just like they do when you buy them, of course you dont get points for any expenditure at IC hotels during reward stays, I spent $300 at Burswood and got 0 points on the weekend, but then again the three nights cost me only 15K in points so I am happy!

Many of the hotels are still bookable for 5K points as of this afternoon - FYI

Wished a few more properties followed the CP PNG policy of making all their rooms available on point breaks:

KING BED PRESIDENTIAL SUITE NONSMOKING
INCLUDES LOUNGE 2 BATHROOMS 1 WITH SPA BATH IN ROOM SAFE INTERNET ACCESS AT A CHARGE MINI BAR COFFE AND TEA MAKING FACILITIES 2 CABLE TV FREE BREAKFAST IN CLUB LOUNGE

Reward Nights
5000 POINTS
2 PERSON(S) PER ROOM MAXIMUM

The latest list of Point break hotels for the next couple of months is slightly disappointing.

We did manage this in Christchurch last November but suspect it won't happen again in a hurry :!:
