Priority Baggage

Thanks to the OP for letting us know of the issues they’ve experience recently in Perth – we’ve passed this on to the local team, to help them further improve in Priority Baggage tagging and delivery (though it’s also great to hear that many of you have had positive experiences with Priority Baggage).

As for the OP’s suggestion re: a dedicated priority carousel – it’s certainly an interesting idea! As others have pointed out, though, there’s a risk that the added complexity could lead to confusion.
We'll take that on board, but we’ll concentrate on getting the current process right each and every time, so that your priority bags are always tagged and among the first to be delivered to the baggage carousel.

A question about priority bag tagging...not a complaint, I'm just not sure what is reasonable.

Last month I (Gold) flew MEL-ADL-DPS travelling with my partner (Silver) on the same PNR.

My bags were tagged Priority but my partners were not. Assuming I'm not going to race off and leave them at the bag claim my benefit was effectively nullified. (And actually their bag came out first anyway!)

In that scenario would you expect both pax bags to be priority tagged? That is in fact what happened on the return flight.

I have found the VA priority service pretty good in most cases and generally better than the competition - the only times there have been issues are when bags haven't been tagged, guess I should have watched to make sure as well........
Also once much to my amusement I had left the priority tag on the bag thinking I was helping, however the agent pulled it off and put a fresh one on!

To be fair to my previous comment, every other time things had been fine, it was just that one time it wasn't.

I came back LAN (QF #) from GRU -> SCL -> SYD a few months ago on J.. and LAN almost forgot to put priority tags on my bags for that flight... it was only after i prompted him did he remember.
In no way is the forgetting to tag a virgin thing.
