Priority Baggage

I've had priority baggage successfully from the last couple of trips out of OOL

Coming back from CBR-MEL on Monday we had 5 items of checked baggage. (3 bags and a walking frame with basket) When I got to baggage collection the bags were not on only waiting but were on a separate section to the regular bags. Excellent work. :D

I've travelled five times with checked baggage tagged with Priority on DJ. On four of the five occasions the priority bags were out first - my bags were within the first two or three on each occasion. On the fifth time, there were a handful of bags that were marked "Domestic Transfer" that came out prior to the Priority bags - my guess is that they were a late load at the departing airport.

All in all, my experience is that Priority Baggage is working far better on DJ than I've experienced on QF so far. I hope this continues...

Have done 2 flights do far this week and waiting to board my 3rd. So far bags have come out first each time.

And arrived from Perth into Melbourne and my bag was number 3 onto the carousel - love it!

Good to see this fully in action now, but in contrast with some of the experiences above, mine of late haven't been great... MEL - SYD on Friday morning; at least a dozen bags that were not sporting a Priority tag came out before ours, and a similar experience OOL - MEL this morning.

Seems there are still a couple of glitches in the matrix.... I should clarify that it's also worked perfectly for me on a couple of occasions too!

FWIW over the last few weeks my bags have been tagged ex-MEL but I haven't really noticed a difference at SYD. Usually seems to be middle of the pack. Bags weren't getting tagged as priority ex-SYD but had a tendency to come off first in Melbourne anyway. Go figure.

I traveled on VAustralia back in August and my bags were priority tagged and first off on both legs. Seems to work more reliably there.

It works. Had to check baggage twice and my bag came out near the start of the queue both times.

My bag got priority tags last week. Departing MEL the check in agent didn't know how to do it and I laughed to myself thinking, 'that tags gonna fall right off', it obviously did and my bag was one of the tail enders. :D

On the way home it was done right and my bag came off NUMERO UNO :D

Priority baggage worked really well for me this week. 1st and 5th bag out.

For those that haven't seen the tags they look like this:

Still not working reliably for me. Yesterday my bag was tagged in Sydney and showed up in the middle of the pack (with the other priority tagged bags, behind a trolley worth of non-tagged bags) at Melbourne.

Tonight ex-Melbourne my bag wasn't tagged, and also showed up around the middle of the pack.

Oh well. Teething problems. The tags are at least pretty :)

Priority Baggage at Hamiltion Island means your bags are at the front of the baggage cart not mixed in with the others, you still have to wait for all bags to come off, before you can go to the trolleys like a pack of vultures swarming for food. But at least you dont have to look through 4 other baggage trolleys. Slightly off subject Hamiltion Island checkin has Platinum members on its priority checik in board where the TV commercial and Coolangatta dont.
