Howdy guys,

I'm not much of a regular at Qantas Club's but am OWS. I'll explain: I arrive into Melbourne at 6AM on a Saturday on an international flight and have a domestic flight leaving at 9AM.

I am just wondering what the printing situation is in the Qantas Club: is it free? is it a good quality printer that you would typically find in a large company or more akin to a home printer? does it typically get used a lot, specifically on a Saturday morning? And lastly, if it is free, will there be any problems me printing 100-200 pages?

Thanks,
Rakesh

Rakesh best is to phone ahead and find out. I have been caught when the printer had been U.S. Unserviceable :D

It's free. They are mostly tabletop laser units, so a good quality home printer unit.

Your biggest issue would be the volume and you are highly likely to run out of paper

Also will you have your own laptop?
Sometimes the computers they have will be not be working, have had 3 at the one thing, that were not responding to keyboard.
Where are you flying in from, if on one PNR with QF you can have the BP for the whole journey.
3 hours should be enough time, giving it time to pass immi (if Aust-Smartgate) if not, then having to queue can take time.

There is also a proper office grade multifunction printer/copier at the MEL QP near the computer area/business centre.

To the OP, you should be fine printing the document as the printer don't get used a lot over the weekend.

I like printing at the SYD lounge with its colour printer.

There's a quirk though: i find i need to be connected by wifi to printer and that means not being connected to lounge wifi.

Thanks for the reply everyone, yes I will have my own laptop - is it easy to connect to the printer (the office grade multifunction one) or will I have to use one of the computers?

Thanks

If the process is the same over ALL domestic QC printers, you have the option of emailing the document to the printer. (This is the process I've used previously in the SYD Domestic J lounge).

I've found the easiest way to print is to use a thumb drive in the computer. Just open the document and print, a lot easier than trying to connect to wi fi etc.

One option would be to arrange printing closer to your destination (eg. officeworks).

Sure, not free, but may be easier.

As a travelling sales person I am frighteningly accustomed to this scenario.
Officeworks printing is hit and miss and shouldn't be relied upon as being "while you wait"

I have never had a QC printer not print, but the formatting etc. of documents can be lost.
I would always print them as a PDF to ensure the formatting is correct.
I would take them on a USB drive or email them to your Gmail account that can be opened on their PC's.
Trying to print from your printer would be too stressful.

Just be aware that the paper they use on their printer is not amazing quality and normally prints out as readable but not the kind of document you would hand a client.
Most Hotels will also print documents for you if you hand them a USB with PDFs on it.
