I've having to put together a proposal for a trip for work mid-next year and I was trying to come up with a rough price (this doesn't need to be exact) for the a SYD-LHR in PE.

I've had a look at about twenty random dates in the first half of 2014 and can't find a singe Premium Saver (and in loads of cases can't even find a Premium). Does anybody have any tips on engines that will help you find a date with a certain fare type on a particular airline (or something that lets you find cheapest far in a period? - noting the VA engine is pretty hopeless at this).

Also does anyone have any idea why the PE seats would be non-existant in 2014? I've tried Kayak to see if it was just a search thing - but they are listing PE fares of up to $8500 on VA for the first half of the year. Work probably won't stomach a full Premium ticket - let alone something at J prices!

Appreciate any advice.

Hmm. Same problem on SYD-MIA (noting that VX doesn't release inventory as early as other carriers). Looks like the VA engine is unable to serve up anything in Premium Economy if its connecting to a flight with no PE cabin (or maybe I'm just happening upon rare dates). It used to didn't it?

I've been looking for the same SYD-LHR in the last couple of months this year and come up empty on the premium savers as well. Same deal with the cost of full Premium or J... Y here we come :)
