Premium Economy worth it?

I think that if asked nicely, the FAs will ask that a seat not be reclined during meals... But I normally choose an aisle seat being of an age where loo trips are predictable.

Happy wandering

Fred

I would do the same but have been lucky enough to nab 4 or envelope three in a row downstairs :)

Seats in the centre are no better than economy ...

Except that the armrests can be raised in select centre seats (giving more room if the flight isn't full - you can even lay down!), and of course the extra legroom and extra width and recline.

Has anyone tried premium economy on the A350's yet?

About to book positioning HKG-TPE return award and wondering if it's worth splurging an extra 3,000 miles on premium economy. Kidding. ;) I can leave HKG earlier on a flight without premium economy and wondering if it's worth waiting a few hours to try out premium economy?

I will sample business class on the A350 from HKG-BKK the same day.

almost certainly not worth the wait. unless you're looking for extra lounge time :)

Thanks. Lounged out already. Was just thinking for novelty factor.

if the flights are busy that day I would go with PE - the TPE routes in Y can be pretty rowdy when they have groups or school trips crammed in

short flight. aircraft could be changed even at last minute. same food as economy.
You could be right. I'll decide later. A return is either 15,000 Amex MR points for economy or 18,000 Amex MR points for premium economy.

if it's only an 1500 extra each way, why not? at least if they sub out the plane on the day you'll get some cash compensation at the airport (or an upgrade to business).

Oh yeah. I'll pray for 2 aircraft substitutions. ;)

I fly PE most of the time and I think it is worth it.

Plus even Diamond members can't jump 2 classes so PE with about 50% chance of an upgrade to business is my preference. My biggest issue with PE is not being able to use the Business class lav and having to walk back to Y. (Some IFM's allow when I ask upon being greeted but that depends on the person)

Plans have changed so now looking at redeeming HKG-BKK instead. It is 20,000 miles in economy or 24,000 miles in premium economy.

Interesting how one-way awards are more expensive.
