On QF same as me in F from USA.
OT, but really? QF always have a toastie or similar on “long haul” J. Just the other day, it was a quesadilla ex SCL to SYD.

Maybe not on o/n flights from SIN or HKG - they don’t have enough time to do dinner/supper before throwing breakfast a bleary eyed travellers.

As for PE, the QF seat and food/service is significantly better than whY. Whether one is prepared to pay for it is always going to be highly subjective. The hard product and extra space and recline is what drives the price premium. F&B would be secondary but welcome.

Pre COVID the mains weren't any different btw Y and PE...

As for class, PE is not economy. It’s a seperate cabin, dedicated cabin crew for service, different food and drinks, different seat, different points and status credits earned etc.

Right international premium economy these days is pretty much what business used to be 20 years ago before British Airways pioneered the lie flat seat. In fact on some airlines like American the international PE seat is the same as their domestic business seat (they call it ‘first class’).

Agree 100% on this. For me Premium Y is affordable but I cant justify J. Im a tall guy so extra legroom and width and shoulder room really helps. The A330s that mainly ply to/from Asia only have 4 exit row whY seats which are often sold out - so I am excited to try Premium on the Finnair/Qantas A330s.

Tell me more about these Finnair aircraft - they are going to retain the Finnair designed onboard experience albeit with QF catering?

Thats right. QF entertainment loaded onto the Finnair IFE system, QF meals and blankets/pillows etc.
From what I have read it is Finnair staff (maybe with one QF staff as a supervisor) for now and will be fully QF staffed after a while.
Will be an interesting experience.
There are a few reviews online of the Business experience on Sydney to Singapore (this route started first) but I havent seen anything yet for Premium Economy or Economy.

Sort of! 20 years ago international business would have had a minimum 50 inch seat pitch as standard on most airlines. If only qf would increase itsPEY from 38 to say 42 inches. Then it would be a great product!
