Have just booked our first ever reward seats with points for our America family trip. I did it over the phone as the seats were not available online and we got premium economy seats on virgin America. Have only ever flown economy seats anyone know what the difference is between economy and premium economy please? Thankyou :)

Hi, only done PE on Qantas and Air NZ, briefly you get..Priority check in, increased baggage allowance, wider seat with more pitch and leg room, better cuisine with more choice and better service then Economy, depending on airline, eg. pre take off drink, table cloth. In my view worth it, others think differently. Have booked PE on Qantas from HK to Syd in March, post QM2 cruise. However have appled for classic award upgrade on Qantas to Business Class @ 50,000 points for two pax. Virgin America might have the 'space seats' in PE, like Air NZ has, they are good, like bucket seats, no body can recline back into thee.

Above all enjoy.

If you mean virgin america - for domestic flights within the USA, 'premium economy' is simply economy seating but with increased legroom. You'll also get free food and some benefits at the airport: https://www.virginamerica.com/cms/travel-deals/premium-main-cabin-select

If you mean flying Virgin Australia to America - then you'll get all the trimmings mentioned by NSWP (big seat etc etc)

I don't think VX has PE. They have main cabin select, or something like that, which means extra leg room but its still 3 x 3 seats.

But... if you can get them upgraded to First (our version of J), its well worth it. I would pick VX domestic J seats over VA domestic seats. Loved them.
