My partner and I are travelling QF 1/2 in August in PE and have selected 24 A/B in both directions. These seats are at the front of the PE cabin with loads of legroom but we are worried the area in front of our seats will be an area of congregation with people waiting for toilets, stretching etc. We are also wondering whether there is any difference between 24 A/B and 24 J/K on the other aisle? Do crew favour one aisle over the other when they go back and forth? Thanks in advance for any insights!

I did 24K a couple of years ago travelling LAX-MEL and it was great. Plenty of room in front of you even if a few people gather for a bit. Would definitely do it again.

The toilets are curtained on both sides (J and PE), and most "waiters" do so inside the curtains to see when the doors pop open. Does get a bit busy when the J passengers are getting into their PJs, but otherwise seemed fairly quiet each time I poked my head through the curtains.

Hi Jabiru, I have flown a couples times in either both 24 Jand K. Can't say that I've ever noticed many people congregating in front of me.

Noob question.

i've booked PE on QF93/94 in late October/November; my TA tells me 24A,B,J,K are all blocked out (not assigned) on both forward and return journeys. Are these seats reserved for Platinum status only? I'm a mere Gold.

That could be the case. When I did my trip 24K wasn't available until close to the date, I was just lucky enough to grab it when it opened up (I'm Gold as well).

Gary, how close to date did 24K open up? Did you look at seat allocation weekly?
(As well, I'll throw 72,000 points at QF in the (faint) hope of an upgrade to J as well.)

Thanks for all the responses. Sounds like row 24 will be just fine. I've flown PE in the 747 but this will be the first time in PE on the A380. I've been fortunate that previous A380 flights have all been in J - paid, points upgrades and once an op-up at the gate from SYD-LHR (after 40 years of flying, this broke the myth for me!). We've put in for points upgrades to J this time (both directions) but it sounds like PE row 24 will be the next best option. Thanks again.
