Pre-ordered meals........... or not

I can also agree that the meal orders going through has been inconsistent, though part of it is down to the crew. Most of the time when I get asked what I would like to eat and I say that I've preordered they go back to the front, check the manifest and grab my order, only once in the past 12 months was it not synced through. I have a feeling it isn't that well used so the crew just get in the habit of not checking the manifest before taking orders

QF29 on Sep-12: Crew Member informed me that he knew of my pre-order as he went through the cabin taking other's.

Regards,

BD

Worked for me on a recent SYD-HKG flight in Y. Order wasn't acknowledged pre-meal service but was served my pre-ordered meal in advance along with those who had ordered special dietary meals.

I've pre-ordered my meals twice, in Y BNE-HKG and HKG-BNE
Both times I got my meal way before everyone else, but it's nothing special.. i'm not sure if it is worth it

These days the pre order options are exactly the same as the on board menu - they’re not meant to be anything special.

The main advantage of pre ordering (if it works!) is that you avoid the risk of them not having your preferred option by the time they get round to you. An added bonus is that you often get served more quickly (especially in Y). It seems it worked out for you on both of those fronts.
