Hi there, pretty specific one here so appreciate not many of you will know this..!
I remember discussions on this topic a few times in unrelated threads but can't find it anywhere (at least when searching on my phone!)

Tomorrow I'm checking in for an SQ F flight. Currently my LH M&M number is in the booking. The ticket is an paid ticket on SQ stock.

I want to credit the status/award miles to LH, but the dollar value of the tickets to PPS.

I am going to ask for this at check in. In case the check in staff aren't great with this, could someone please remind me of the field names where the LH number needs to be and the SQ number needs to be in order to achieve the desired crediting result?

Thanks for your help.

The technical speak is you need LH number in the FQTV field and SQ number in FQTS field. On the boarding pass it should print your LH membership number plus a code representing your KF status (eg. KFES for Elite Silver etc). Also you can add your LH number as an associated FF program in your KF account - not sure if this helps or not.

Does this also apply to Miles VS status credits? If I want each to go to different programs?

No, this applies to PPS Value. Award and Status miles always go together.

As you probably know, SQ has two ways of achieving status; Elite Miles and PPS Value.

For PPS club, if you spend >$25K SGD then you attain PPS Club status (which also gives *A Gold).

As for Miles (both Award and Status), you can credit these to either SQ or another *A partner. If you credit them to anther *A partner whilst applying the dollar value of your SQ ticket towards SQ PPS Club, the AFF (and FT etc) communities refer to this as "Double Dipping" as technically you're building status with two airline programs with one ticket.

Many thanks vantage03.

Hypothetically, can this be done:

1. Purchase SQ ticket on SQ metal and code
2. FQTV is on Virgin - hence miles & status credit goes to VA Velocity
3. FQTS is on SQ for PPS purposes

Any wisdom on doing this?

My understanding here is yes, this can be done with any SQ partner, not just *A airlines.

To be clear, I have no experience with this myself. However I've done a lot of research on the topic and through threads on FT it seems that any SQ partner can benefit from double dipping.

Would love to hear from anyone who's done this with VA! For me personally I've maxed out VA status so am going after Euro *A status as I do a lot of intra-EU travel.

The language you have to use:

PPS (your SQ KrisFlyer number) is for *service* ($ in PPS bank if you are flying R/F/J)
VA is for *accrual* (status credits and miles)

When done correctly the boarding pass should read

VA QPPS ########### (the VA frequent flyer number)

Always always ask to get the BP reprinted so you can resubmit of theres an issue.

Obviously you earn 25% fewer points on accrual to VA vs SQ. But I will qualify for platinum on VA because of my SQ double-dip flights this year!

What's funny is that the VA points and status credits
* Posted faster than SQ for PPS credit
* Posted faster than I currently get for VA flights!
