Any posts in Playground does not count towards your personal post count but count towards AFF's total post count.

Hmm...there are numerous posts in non-Playground group of threads that, IMO, have no substance. Administrators may like to review the count issue.

I think it is what to prevent what some people on other forums call post whoring. Before this post, I've made 826 non playground posts. If I was to add my playground posts, you could probably double that tally.

A major part of this site is asking questions & giving answers. If someone has 826 posts, they've been contributing for a while & presumably has been traveling & being a good community member. Hopefully, they know what they are talking about. However if all of my 826 posts were made in the playground, that's not a very good indicator of my knowledge of trustworthiness as a member here.

Does it really matter?-I joined here to learn from others & hopefully contribute meaningful experiences. I think there are still many "post coughs" on the site. From experience I know which posters deserve any credence. Obviously there are people who post on here that get some pervese (only in my mind ) satisfaction of posting for the sake of it- bit like buying twitter followers or collecting facebook friends

That was a decision that was made many years ago.

If you feel posts are off-topic and belong in the Playground then by all means report the threads/posts.
