Hello

A question for an Administrator I guess.

In the past on this forum I have been too much of a 'taker' than a 'giver'. ie, sponging the wealth of knowledge out there but I have just realised I actually have some things worth contributing!

Having said that, a question, is it normal to not be able to post from an iPhone to AFF as I can only contribute from my PC.

Thanks!

To start with, the iPhone app is available for all to browse the forum, but you need to be a paid-up Silver or Gold member to post through it. If that box is ticked for you (and you're logged in) then you should have no issues clicking either the camera icon to take a photo, or the photo frames to the right to add a previously taken photo. The app will ask you to confirm the upload (in the past it has given me sizing options but this may not happen anymore) and then your attachment will appear between BBCode tags, like so: [noparse]View attachment 11111[/noparse]

Well there's my problem, I am not a paid up Silver or Gold AFF member, so therefore I guess settings are working correctly. Thanks for the quick response. I had wondered about that for ages, but never asked!

Thanks

The benefits for being paid up are located here. Especially useful if you don't fly enough to gain lounge access by virtue of status and are thinking about paying for Qantas Club (there's a discount).

No worries.

I often post from my iPhone (including this message) and no longer have silver or gold membership. The website has a mobile version which your iPhone should default to, which is what I use/am using.

I am posting from a Samsung S3 but using the full version of the website. I do not like the app or the mobile version.

And I dont think being a gold AFF member has anything to do with it.

Let me add to the answers already given - which, btw, are all correct. As a "mobile" user, you can access AFF in 2 ways - via the Browser or via the App:

Browser: This can be either the "Mobile" or "Regular" view. Your phone should automatically default to the "Mobile" view when accessing AFF from a mobile. If you prefer, you can override this and select the "Regular" view. In either case, members have the same privileges as they would have had if they had used a PC instead of a phone. ie. can login, post etc...

App: Anyone can download the App and view AFF using the App. But to login (via the App) you need to be a SILVER or GOLD member.
