Possible Asian 747 retime?

I suspect you are correct. My bet is that QF18 and possibly even QF96 May become daytime flights as well, with ~6pm arrival into SYD and ~7pm arrival into MEL respectively.

1800 into SYD makes the last PER/DRW flights tricky. Also ADL from MEL with 1900.

Happy wandering

I'm thinking more along the line of travellers. Too late for dinner etc. It's nice to rock up around 6, go to the hotel and shower, before heading out for a dinner and a beer.

Whatever QF decides, it won't be perfect.

Yes, but to get there by 1800, you're looking at a departure from SYD around 0800, so need to be checked in by 0700 at latest (most of us would want to be there by 0600). Not good for connections inbound or for those with an aversion to OMG o'clock starts. I'd much prefer a lunchtime departure from SYD and 2200 arrival in HND (dinner on the aircraft) then straight to hotel and bed.

Yep. I may have confused the length of flights. The HND departure gets into Sydney at 830am after a 10pm departure...this seems like a good arrival time. Assuming QF needs a 2 hr turn-around, an 8pm arrival at HND requires a 11 am departure from SYD.

Though has been stated, QF currently may need to arrive at 10pm, so a 12 am HND departure will be a 1030am arrival into SYD.

But maybe QF just lives it as is.
