As they say every cloud has a silver lining. Whilst we didn't get to see Plitvice Lakes, we had a night in Trogir, which is about a 10 minute bus ride to Split Airport. Trogir is about 30 minutes from the main part of Split and, as we had been to Split previously, we decided to stay in Trogir for convenience to the airport and to have a look around. It's not a Dubrovnik or Split but definitely worth a look.
Our accom was above a bar overlooking the water and and close to everything. The staff were amazing and even helped us carry our luggage up the the stairs as there was no lift. The young guy behind the bar was on his first day on the job and wasn't sure how to pour a beer or make coughtails so we actually helped him out a few times! This for me is what travel is about.
Coming in to Split airport.

And just general photos.

And a pub quiz
