Hi Everyone,
A bit of a frequent flyer novice, so I'm sorry if this induces an eyeroll
Now that QF/EK have banded together, I want to get rid of my EK points that I have lying around doing nothing and concentrate solely on my QF FF membership for earning/using points from now on.
I need to travel to BKK in 2014 and have enough spare QF points lying around to upgrade to J class for SYD-BKK and I have 49,000 EK Skywards miles which I would like to use for an upgrade BKK-SYD and therefore get rid of these EK points as I won't be using their FF program any more.
The question is, how do I book the flights so I can use QF points to upgrade on the way there and use EK points to upgrade on the way home?
Assume I have to book QF23 SYD-BKK and EK418 BKK-SYD to do this effectively?
Is there a way to do this? Obviously booking 2 x one-way flights defeats the purpose.
Thanks in advance if anyone can shed some light on this for me.
Appreciate it! Happy new year to you all too.
