"Points Club Plus" + Buying wine hack?

Hi there,

I need roughly 8,000 more points to get to "Points Club Plus" and will be needed by 30 November 2022.

I was thinking I could buy some Qantas Wines that come with bonus points? But wanted to know can I use some points to pay. For example the below comes with 15,000 bonus points so I can use points plus pay to bring it down to $248.

So essentially I'm using the bonus points I earn on the purchase to pay for the wines, and those points earnt go towards me getting to the Points club plus.

Does anyone know if this will work?

Yes you can do that, but you are redeeming those points for $0.005 per point, which is terrible value.

For those 15,000 points you could almost get a return trip MEL-SYD. Instead, you're saving $81 in cash.

So definitely not a 'hack'.

I do not see it as a hack but I think your regular points club membership comes with $50 vouchers for qantas wine from memory?

I grabbed a case of the mixed white doz as free quaffers with my 10k pts. Just pissed that my PC bday wine voucher literally arrived today and I bought a doz yesterday…

There's about 4 products there (different beers, whiteclaws etc) with the wrong amount. Think they added an extra 0 by mistake. Oops!
