Hi my under standing is that on a Hilton Points booking that on a standard rate booking the 5th night is free?
My wife just made a 5 night booking for the Hilton Da Nang for next year, the rate was 25,000 per night which I think should be a total of 100,000 given the 5th night should be free. The total charged however was 121,000 which makes no sense. Anyone have any advice?

Doesn't Hilton have dynamic pricing for redemptions? Hilton definitely does offer the 5th night free. Best way to check would be to do a dummy booking for 4 nights then add the 5th to see how it changes points required. I would expect one or more nights you have booked at not at the standard redemption rate.

Rather than providing the 5th night free, Hilton averages the nightly value of the stay across all nights of any award stay over 5 nights, then deducts the cost of one night from the stay.

I think you will likely find that the cost of each night varied across the five nights that you booked, which is very common in my experience.

This link explains how it works:

I believe you need to also be silver or above to get the 5th night free.

Thanks, I had checked each night on it’s own and it was 25000 per night so that’s why I can work it out, I am Diamond so no issue there.

That is bizarre, I just did a dummy booking for said hotel and for 4 nights it was coming up at Standard rate of 26k per night total cost 104k. I added the 5th and the points required did not change.

Ask them for a price breakdown. Nothing to lose.

I would try again and see if it’s resolved. May have just been some sort of glitch.

I have 4 nights booked, I used 2 x 2 free night certificates I had.

Virgin has just cancelled/removed connecting flights on my checkout day, and only offering a direct flight the next day or a day early.

(QF already cancelled/removed my flights so I re-booked with Virgin, they still don't have any scheduled so I cannot go back to them)

Does anyone have experience in getting a 5th night free using these certificates? (HH Diamond)
