I came across this service some months ago and thought it might be of use/interest to those who travel away a lot but like to keep tabs on new building their local area.

Basically it's a free service that sends you an email if there's a planning application submitted to council within a certain radius of your chosen address. In my case, I use it to see if there's any with a couple of km of my home in order to be alerted in case there's any plans submitted for developments i'm worried about. You can register more than one address.

Email alerts of planning applications near you | PlanningAlerts

Whilst i'm sure it doesnt cover every council / plan, it's been pretty good for the ones in my area (usually i'm notified by email before there's any displayed notice etc).

I'll declare no conflict of interest (no financial interest, or any other connection), just posting in case some members would like it.
