Any AFF members lucky enough to join the Planespotting event organised at OOL by Gold Coast Airport on Saturday?
They got to see all the domestic airlines, as well as AirAsia X and Scoot, along with the arrival of the Cathay Pacific Chinese New Year charter flight. A competition is being held for those who participated, and the winner will be the official photographer at the inaugural JQ Fiji arrival later in the month.
Apparently the event was advertised on the Gold Coast Airport Facebook page, and the airport is looking to do more events with planespotters in the future, so keep an eye out if this is an interest to you. I'll post updates here if I find out any more details.
This must be a fairly unique opportunity actually hosted by the airport operator itself amongst Aussie airports...?
