In February when Express Freighters Australia, the wholly-owned freighter management company for Qantas, deploys a 767-300F for Qantas Freight, the aircraft will be the first freighter to wear a Qantas livery (sans kangaroo on the tail).

Perhaps the kangaroo refers to passengers? Do other airlines differentiate their freight and passenger services by not using the same colour scheme?

There was a white tail 744 floating around for a while, and quite a few airlines operate cargo ops that have a slightly different paint scheme, it certainly marks a departure from the previous use of the AAE colour scheme, obviously trying to distance themselves as a brand from Aus Post.

But not always. There was an Omega Tanker 707 parked at CNS International weekend before last, when they converted it to an air to air refueling tanker, they didn't bother to remove the windows.

Presume (OK guess) its presence there had something to do with the arrival of super hornets

The Omega 707 was supporting some F18s out of TSV who were acting as aggressors for the Singapore Airforce I believe, our MRTTs are still getting up to speed.

Omega bought the RAAF's B707s which were combo aircraft - they could carry pax, or cargo or fuel (as a tanker) - so they had windows. The Omega B707 you saw may have been one of the ex-RAAF aircraft. The A330 MRTTs that the RAAF are buying will have windows for the same reason.

Yep, as shown by this picture in Oct last year at BNE

I remember seeing this one back in about 2002 at SYD,it had blue engines,blue belly,white tail fin and the apu was painted yellow,probably the ugliest aircraft I have ever seen wearing the Qantas logo.

On the subject of the QF freight livery I think that if they wanted to distinguish between the passenger and freight businesses they should have gone with a reverse livery on the tail-ie a white tail with a red kangaroo,that would have made the difference stand out but still clearly identified it as a QF plane,I know that the words "Qantas Freight" are easy to see but I still think every aircraft in the QF fleet should have a kangaroo,after all Qantas has always been the "Spirit of Australia,the flying kangaroo"
