Hi,

Is anyone aware of any perks / extras that can be used for being employed in the freight forwarding industry?

I know you become eligible to be in the Qantas Credit Union but that's all I can find so far?

Can't speak personally I have never used this mob but they've been around for ages. I remember eons ago the folks did an East West Airlines package SYD/AYQ/SYD when they flew to PER via Ayers Rock . This was pre 1989 when there was the AN/TN duopoly, I mean two airline agreement so no other airline was allowed to fly certain routes non-stop.

I would first and foremost make sure that you would enjoy working for a freight forwarding company. To join a company solely for the purpose of perks would be doing yourself a disservice
IMHO. Keep in mind that there may be embargoes for travel when you want to go, particularly in school holidays etc.

You would be surprised at the amount of airline staff who purchase normal commercial airfares for their holidays particularly with airfares to some destinations at all time record lows.

(C) Intl. Air Freight Forwarder
For employees of companies directly involved with international air freight forwarding, this is your category. You will need to have a letter to verify your employment from your supervisor and some airlines may require additional verification including proof IATA accreditation
