I have an economy return ticket from Perth to SFO in April utilising SQ32/SQ31 for SIN-US legs.
Currently ticketed for one-night stop in SIN going (Apr 16) and two nights coming back (Apr28-30).
Ticket has a change fee of $260 but unable to change online.

I want to eliminate the SIN stopover on the return leg to get home as soon as possible.
With the scheduling changes related to CoronaVirus (not aware of any fee change waivers) am I better off trying to change the return date from SIN to PER now before I start the trip or wait until I get to the US and then try to change it.

Any thoughts are much appreciated.

I’d call Singapore airlines and ask the question. They are usually helpful and knowledgeable.. 02 8228 1188 should be redirected to Singapore.

Have just submitted online form to request cancellation of my PER-SIN-SFO return Y ticket for next month. Fare is non-refundable so I have requested a travel voucher for future use.

Received an auto-reply email within minutes acknowledging my request and promising a reply within 7 Business Days.

Now with the flights from Perth to Singapore are all canceled by SQ, don’t you get a choice of full refund although the original condition of the ticket is non-refundable?
I am going to contact SQ soon to try asking for full refund with no penalties for my canceled flights in April. If they insist of charging the $360 fee , i will then take the credit offer.

Thanks for your reply.

I submitted their online form (cannot get through on the phone) about 10 days ago asking them what my options were.

Yesterday I got an email reply advising I could either change the booking now or else retain the fare as a credit. The email had a link to the online form which had different options than the one from 10 days ago.

Basically I was offerred to retain the fare as a credit for use before March 31,2021 or to provide them with new travel dates. I opted to retain the fare as a future credit. Within minutes of submitting the new form I received an email confirming my fare has been retained as a credit. When ready to book a trip using the fare credit I am meant to submit the form again.

At no time was getting a cash refund offerred as an option. Considering the circumstances, I am satisfied with their response. They have waived all cancellation/change fees but warned there may be fare differences owed when my new trip is booked.

Good Luck!

@danielc : thanks for sharing the info! In that case I will wait for their response as I already emailed them 2 days ago asking if I could get a refund instead.
