Plus the parking is a lot less $ than BNE

Do I detect an AFF status run to celebrate the OOL lounge opening?

For PE MEL-OOL, the earn is 60SC, right?

The distance is 845 miles / 1352 km, which makes it Zone 2. The T&C at the footer of the page includes this:

^^When flying with Virgin Australia, a Saver Fare = Discount Economy, a Flexi Fare = Full Fare Economy and a Premium Fare = Business.

I'm hoping the above is right for my flight on Friday and if so, 60 SC for my $385 = about $6.42 per SC.

I flew the same sector in May or June and got the 60, so hoping it's still the same.

Ahh, I need to revisit the spreadsheet, PE still equals J domestically!

Hi Simon

I do that Sector return at least once a fortnight and I get 60SC's each way.

Thanks for confirming that. A handy little earner! It and a return to Sydney a week later will get me silver for another year.

Hopefully I'll be able to use DJ instead of Jetstar for my NZ flights this year and finally make gold.

I'm not a fan of Gold Coast as a city. But I love how cheap premium seats are ex OOL.

I use to see a lot of $59 OOL-SYD fares, and even recently I saw a lot of $88 OOL-MEL fares.

Gold Coast is the best city to be based if you want cheap status credits!

Add onto that the Cheap and close parking, 30min drive from my house... I wonder why I didn't switch to flying out of OOL sooner!

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Case and point. Somebody explains to me how this works?

That's why airlines don't' sell paint!

What is the best way to get to Gold Coast airport from the end of the rail line?

.... or any other variations for that matter.

I'm all up for parking at LiamR's place and getting him to drive me to the airport! :p:p

I really do need to find an excuse to get to the Gold Coast.

Why do you think DJ has the highest amount of Platinums out of OOL?

There are other fares like that MEL DRW via Perth in PE is $597 and you have to travel in Business on the MEL PER sector and MEL PER is $1299 in J class.

It is also cheaper to Fly to PER from OOL if you do it as 2 sector fares and you get more SC OOL MEL $385 60SC MEL PER $1299 80SC total $1684 and you get 140SC's Book OOL to PER via Melbourne and it is $1714 and you only get 80SC.

But if you want to go via Sydney its $1714 and do it at 2 sector fares you will get 120SC and a better ride in the A330.

Does that make sense.

It's even better when you work at the airport. Just leave the car at work and jump on a plane. No parking fee. There are some mysterious mileage calculations at play from OOL though. OOL- CNS is one, it comes in at zone 3 but you can fly direct to TSV and connect (same plane). If we all live long enough the train line may terminate at the airport one day.
