Hi all

Need advice- transferring on Qf from Int'l to Dom.

What is the process? Do I need to take my own bags over to Dom or can is there a drop off in Int'l terminal?

Question has been answered a few times previously, please use search before posting.

Qantas page for PER has information on INT-DOM transfers. As you are entering/arriving in Australia, you will need to collect your bags and proceed through customs. Baggage transfer from INT to DOM is not available.

Once you have cleared customs, approach the QF Sales Desk for a complimentary transfer voucher (located near check-in), then proceed to the transfer bus. On arrival at QF Domestic, recheck your bags, collect boarding passes (if not previously issued), and proceed to your gate.

Information and service times for the transfer bus are available from the Perth Airport website.

This is how it used to be in the past, however.. when I did this in late January this year, the procedure was:

1. Collect bag, clear customs.
2. Go to the special domestic checkin desk that they have at the end of the international check-in area. (I was lazy, and went to the first business class queue I saw...) They take your bags and transfer them for you.
3. Step onto bus, show boarding pass - they kept the stub...

Indeed - this was my experience in January as well.

In both directions (Dom-Int as well) they took the stub of the onward boarding pass.

Thanks guys.

Just the good news I wanted to hear. I can bring all my family's presents.

I was there in early January this year and unfortunately if you arrive late at night then you need to take your own luggage on the bus to domestic and wait until the check-in counters open at ~4:30am.

Just as well the transfer bus is running 24 hours a day now as in the past it required a $25 taxi trip in the early hours of the morning. to get to Domestic.
