People in my office think I'm strange... but it makes perfect sense to me!

No need for work people to know about convoluted routings as they simply do not understand. Most people do not want to connect. Most people do not care about airline lounges including First Class lounge.

When I first started in my current job the IT Director could not understand how I was Platinum flying economy and he was only Gold flying business class.

Many people don't understand and not worth trying to explain it to them either.

Just search the International Cheap Airfares section for the thread about cheap fares from RGN. All will be explained there... I wonder if I'll even book anything that cheap ever again!

There was another RGN incident this week. All carriers have so far cancelled all booked flights on this one.

These are 'Mistake Fares' and frequently get canned like this. AA had one LAX-MEL-LAX return in QF F for around $500 last year. Unsurprisingly it was not honoured. UA also had mistake fares for redemption for 1 mile in F recently. It was canned within 36 hours, but some select few who booked for immediate departure managed to start the trip, and UA allowed them to complete it.

Milepoint and FlyerTalk are better websites for these kinds of things than AFF as the audience is more global than here.

Correct. Sometimes I do wonder to myself why I bothered to start telling them details. The less said the better.

And the funny one recently was my girlfriend could not understand how she saw me off at the airport in BKK bound for SYD on Thursday and I was back at BKK airport on Friday! :shock: Flying to me is a hobby and as long as that hobby does not become too obsessive or expensive then it is OK.
