I can't see how CX is involved either. Imagine he had (if able to) pay cash to enter the lounge. Do you talk to the Australian mint about compensation because their product got you in?
All parties involved would have insurance so I don't see why he's not taken action sooner... He is clearly out of pocket. Travel insurance maybe? Either way it shouldn't be up to him to chase up the right person. Feeling bad for this guy.
