So i'm trying to get my head around booking a classic award with a partner airline through Qantas. When you search online on Qantas, does it actually search across all the partners? I'm wanting to book a Sydney --> Santiago one way in J but the search on Qantas.com shows no availability. If I call Qantas and ask will they just do the same online search I did? or are they able to do a manual search on say LATAM airlines, which may have available redemptions?

cheers

No, the Qantas website does not include all partners. For example, it does not show availability for any MH flights.

I believe LAN does show.

Qantas will search across all carriers. If you want to book a flight that isn't showing online, politely ask for the phone booking fee to be waived. Odds on you'll have success.

Finally, SYD-SCL is a popular route. Award space tends to go quick.

LAN flights generally don't show on the Qantas website, with perhaps the exception of SYD-AKL flights (?).

If you're travelling after October, I would call Qantas and ask if there is any award availability on the MEL-SCL flight. There was a fair few seats available on this route at one point, but not sure if it's still there.

Didn't want to create a new thread so hope this is the right thread to post. MH now showing on QF awards. Managed to snag J awards during the peak christmas / new year period from DPS-KUL-ADL at only 65K points which I thought was very reasonable.
