Parking at Avalon airport?

I am looking at driving to Avalon airport in Melbourne and parking for a few days, but was surprised to see that parking costs practically the same as it does at Tullamarine airport.
Does anyone have any tips on paying less for parking at Avalon? 3 days for $45 will end up costing more than my flight.

Unless you know a friendly farmer I doubt you have any alternatives, 3 days for $45 is pretty good by other city airport standards, thats the daily rate at many!

Parking at Avalon used to be so much cheaper but it has risen a lot recently.
I think it balances itself out though. If you are a leisure traveller and don't mind flying JQ, the parking and the 1-minute walk to the terminal is great. They have a very nice little bar there (with Bulmers on tap!) now.
Don't let it put you off. it's a nice little airport if you leave all your pretentiousness behind.

thats not quite right...

General parking at AVV is the same as long term parking at MEL. The furthermost distance at AVV carpark is closer to the terminal than the closest carpark at MEL to the JQ terminal. The cars do get very dusty over a few days out there though. The sooner V-Line get the stop at AVV done the better!

All parking at any airport is a criminal activity IMO. I have started using Corp' Smart Park for anything more than a couple of days now at MEL. Undercover, secure and although a little inconvenient waiting to be picked up outside, I think to myself the saving is worth it (im on annual bonus now so limos are over!)
