Hi All,
The wife and I at the pointy end of our trip and will be flying home this weekend. I wanted some advice on how SIA manages paid upgrades. Initially we booked a flexi saver, but with Kris pts to burn I rang the call centre to get a price on an upgrade to either full flexi or PE so we could bump up a class. The price I was qouted was full fare. I was hoping it would be the difference paid on the original tickets. Is this general SIA practice or a tricky callcentre employee? Will I have a better chance when at the airport?
Bearing in mind we have one segment prior to this flight with Silk. Any advice would be muchly appreciated.

Unfortunately a bit late for you now, but I don't believe you can upgrade with KF points on Flexi Saver tickets. We usually purchase Flexi Savers as they're a few hundred $$ cheaper than the Flexi's . Never been able to upgrade using KF points on these tickets, but knew that before we purchased. Think the SQ call centre must have worked out the current full Flexi price (which probably would have been high given the short lead time to departure) and then given you the price/points from there. From my limited experience, if you have any thoughts of upgrading, then you really need to pay for the full Flexi ticket in advance. :)
