I have friends who are considering paying for lounge access in for a transit in AKL. (Some of you know them 'Fredd' aka Brian & Kathy Warner from FT)

They land from NRT-AKL from an overnight flight about 8:30 a.m. and fly onward to NAN at 1:00 p.m.

It looks like they could enter the independent Emperor Lounge for NZ $49 each with advance purchase, or the Koru Lounge as ad hoc visitors for NZ $55 each.

Does anyone have any experience or suggestions for the relative plusses or minuses of any of the lounges?

Not they either are the best lounges, but definitely Koru club over the Emperor lounge.
