Hi,
Does anyone have any experience or feedback on Pacsafe bags?
I'm looking at one for trips where it's difficult to not look like a tourist (ie: carrying around the SLR camera). I know that nothing is going to stop a motivated thief but my objective is to discourage the casual wandering hands.

On paper these seem great - lockable, slashproof front and bottom, slashproof straps, tamperproof zips. A bit expensive though, but it's all relative when you're carrying around expensive camera gear.

This is the one I'm thinking about:
Pacsafe Anti-Theft Bags & Travel Security Products

Any comments or alternatives?

I can't comment on the camera bag, but i've got both the bumbag and the money belt and they're both great, I use them both regularly, usually the bumbag more so than the moneybelt but it depends on my destination.

Quality is excellent, can't fault it.

It has a very strong mesh wire underlay.

I have this mesh wire product and love it. Especially when staying in slightly lower class hotels it is very good to secure your stuff. I found the best place to secure it is to use the basin pipe.

I also have the camera strap and find that it is a bit more discreet than a regular strap because it doesn't display the name of the camera.

My final product is the under shirt neck pouch. I find this very useful for carrying my passport and so far it hasn't set off a metal detector even though it has a covered wire strap.

I love my PacSafe products and wont travel without them.

Slashproof? HOw? What is it made of?

The money belt has a thin wire running through the belt so it cant be cut, and the bumbag has that as well as covering the clip in velcro material so it isnt obvious where its done up, you can also go to the extreme of padlocking it so it can't be undone at all, though its not something i've ever bothered with.
